A ride in the countryside

In this ancient “Masseria”(the Sicilian word for farm), located in the territory of Ramacca in the Ovo district, that preserves the atmosphere of the old manor estate unchanged, there is one of the most important herds of the Sicilian Oriental Thoroughbred horse.
These horses are s elected and bred for the preservation and maintenance of their unique ancestral characteristics in purity. The result is a very typical and uniform horse, very similar to the ancient horses that were brought here in the past from Syria.
With these beautiful horses we organize a one-hour excursions immersed in the typical Sicilian countryside, among orange and olive groves; along the way you can also admire an ancient Neolithic tomb carved into the rock of the hill in front of the “Masseria”.
For the inexperienced rides, is possible a theoretical lesson on the ground with tips and on hand  explanations on approaching and handling the horse followed by the first baptism of the saddle with a short ride in fenced areas.

For groups of people we are able to organized days dedicated to horse rides and horse horsemanship  with a possibility of a typical lunch and a horse-drawn carriage ride.
